Name: Boo (Sweet Boo) | Description: Black longhair cat Family Since: 1998 After Jack died, Mom picked me up after school so we could go to the shelter and find another cat. A girl came running in yelling "there's a kitten outside!" Needless to say, we thought it was meant to be. He's the sweetest little snuggle boy you've ever met; I call him a "mush." He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's the only cat I know that purrs when you clip his nails and loves going to the vet because it means there are more people to give him attention. He's my baby boy. additional photos: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight |
Name: Crystal | Description: Husky-Shepard-Beagle mix...? Family Since: 1998 My first doggie...and what a dog! Doesn't listen the best (selective hearing), but she adores people, loves to snuggle, go for walks, eat, sleep, and--before she went blind from glaucoma in late 2009--play ball. She loves giving kisses, and will smother you with them if she finds you're upset and crying. She's an attention whore and a little pig, but her huge heart outweighs any annoying qualities she might have! She's a big dog in a little package and the best first dog I could ask for. additional photos: one, two, three, four |
Name: Raven (Stickers) | Description: Black shorthair cat Family Since: 2011 When I finally had a reliable income, I'd decided that living away from my kitty and puppy back home for four years was too long. So, I found this crazy boy on Pet Finder! I adopted him from Brazos Feral Cat Allies and was so excited to bring him home! They captured his mommy when she was pregnant, so they kept her until she had Raven and his brother Hawk before fixing and releasing her. He loves everybody and thinks that everybody must therefore love him as well. He got his nickname from his interest in trying to eat stickers, tape, anything that tastes sticky. He's a quirky boy. additional photos: one, two, three |
Name: Bob (Wittle Space Pimp) | Description: Orange & white shorthair cat Family Since: 2011 Around the time I adopted Raven, I found out my good friend Angie was trying to place some of the self-socialized feral kitties at her place before she had to move. We wrangled up little Bob and I took him home! He adjusted to indoor life pretty fast and is now a happily spoiled little chubakins who seems scared of the outdoors now that he knows how good he has it! The ladies love him and really, who can blame them? additional photos: one |
.: Those Who Will be Missed :.
Name: Sweet Cheeks (Sweetie) | Description: Hooded Fancy Rat Family Since: 2005 (rip 2007); ~3.5 years old Sweetie was a surprise gift for my 18th birthday. She was already nearly full-grown when I got her and, being a pet store rat, she was very shy with everyone except for me. She also had a chronic respiratory condition of some kind that made her a very noisy ratlet but never hindered her daily activities. She loved to hide under my hair and take short naps on the back of my neck. She and Dewdrop were the best of friends, and Sweetie loved to cuddle the both of us. She will be missed. additional photos: one, two, three, four, five |
Name: Dewdrop (Dewy) | Description: Hooded Fancy Rat Family Since: 2005 (rip 2007); ~3 years old Dewdrop was the result of an accidental litter my friend found herself with, and so I asked if I could have one of the cuties to keep Sweet Cheeks company once we could arrange a meeting. She was an energetic little bundle of joy who loved running around and exploring, the ying to Sweetie's yang. She loved cuddling and would instantly be at her cage door when I came into the room, eager to play. Unfortunately, mammary tumors ran in her family, and she was taken too soon. additional photos: one, two, three, four, five |
.: Those Who Have Left the Nest :.
Name: Eclipse (Kitty Mew; my "neice") | Description: Black & white short-hair cat Family Since: 2009 (moved 2011) Okay, so she's not my kitty but my now former roommate Katja's. Even so, I always considered her family! I swear she's the smallest cat I've ever seen. Eclipse was born a feral cat on campus and, for some reason, when she was captured they deemed her unadoptable. They gave her a checkup, clipped her ear, and released her. She was later captured again and this time put into a foster home. We adopted her and she has quickly become a lap-cat. She's very vocal and a big sweetheart who puts up with the torments of constant human cuddling. additional photos: one, two |
